Kristin Marie Thomas

Kristin Marie Thomas 21, a native of Des Moines, Iowa died at a Sunoco gas station located on Detroits west side due to an act of senseless gun violence. The tragic incident occurred on February 26, 2018.

A Tribute service will be held March 8th, 2018, from 11:00 am until 1:00 pm at Christ Apostolic Temple, in Des Moines, IA. Kristin will be laid to rest at Glendale Cemetery located in Des Moines, Iowa.

Kristin Marie Thomas was born in Des Moines, Iowa on May 9th in 1996. She graduated from Clintondale High School located in Clintondale Township, Michigan and matriculated for a short time at Wayne County Community College. She was also an aspiring hairstylist with a sincere desire to pursue a law degree. She enjoyed movies, dining out and was somewhat of an exercise enthusiast. She also enjoyed socializing with her friends and family. One of her private passions included writing poetry.

Kristin is survived by her mother Suprenia Ann Thomas, her father Willie Grant Guy Sr. and her stepfather Calvin Vinson-El (fondly known as Soulgee), her grandmother, Brenda Louise Clark and grandfather, Robert Thomas Sr. and step grandmother, Theresa. She also has three loving sisters; Shelby Laurie Thomas-Guy, Asia Mikele Thomas-Guy and Shronda O'kelia Butts, two brothers; Willie Grant Guy-Townsell, Jr. and Matthew Akeem Butts and a host of relatives and friends.

Kristin is preceded in death by her maternal great grandparents, Littleton William and Lillie Mae Clark, and fraternal grandparents, Bessie Cornelius-Guy and Grant Townsell Jr.

In lieu of flowers, memorial donations may be given to Kristin's brother, Willie Grant Guy-Townsell. Kristin's family wishes to thank Christ Apostolic Temple, Global Empowerment Ministries and all others who have contributed to comforting and supporting her family during this difficult time.Tribute Service
