Kevin Lee Hall Jr

Kevin Lee Hall Jr. was born on September 2, 1971 to Scott Jenkins Jr. and Jamie Simmons, in Des Moines, IA. During Kevin's childhood, Fred Simmons Jr. joined with Jamie in raising Kevin to be the man of integrity that he grew to become.



He was educated in the Des Moines Public School District and graduated from Roosevelt High. After graduation, Kevin worked many jobs but decided to become an entrepreneur. He was the owner and operator of his own landscaping company and in-home child care business. Kevin also worked hard to improve his community. He was a champion for social issues and fought tirelessly for the social justice of those who had no voice. He also supported the efforts of Mothers Against Violence and Creative Visions in their quest to effect positive change in the Des Moines area.



A stout believer in work hard, play hard; Kevin loved to have a good time. His favorite past times included watching Laker and Packer games, manning a hot grill full of meat and spending time with his family. Kevin would also express his love for music on the dance floor. He was often the last to leave the dance floor. If he was really feeling it, Kevin would start break dancing. Watching him dance was like 'Poetry in motion', and everyone will miss watching him get his groove on.



On September 5, 2016 Kevin stepped from time into eternity. He was greeted on the other side by his fathers, Scott Jenkins and Fred Simmons; grandmother, Bertha Jenkins and his cousin/brother, Marion.



Left to cherish Kevin's memory is his wife Tondia; children, Shinae, Obie, Jordan, Odyssey, Jameshia, Barnay, Kamia and Kalonni; granddaughter, Shailaja; mother, Jamie Simmons and a host of other relatives and friends.
