Kerry Wiggins

Kerry Wiggins passed away on November 4, 2020.

Kerry was born July 4th, 1953 to Mike and Octavia Campbell Wiggins in Louisiana. He completed his primary education by graduating from Cypress Grove High School. When his mother passed away he moved to Chicago with his sister. Kerry attended the Stoney Island Church of Christ in Chicago.

After high school, Kerry found employment at LTV Steel. Kerry wa a workaholic. He got up with the chickens and put in a good days work. He worked tirelessly at that job for over 30 years until he retired in 2004. He got a little job to keep him busy until his health failed and he moved to Des Moines.

Kerry was a quiet man, very smooth and personable. He loved James Brown music. He couldn't sing but you could hear him humming along to the King of Soul when he came on the radio. Kerry liked to dress nice and liked nice cars. He was a great cajun cook and every one loved his shrimp and turkey legs.

Kerry was preceded in death by his parents and 6 other siblings. He leaves fond memories with his children, Kacey, Dean, Donald, Mark, Carmella, Vernisha and the twins; two brothers, Roland Lee and Charles Wiggins; the mother of his child, Vanessa Griffin, 12 grandchildren, 4 great grandchildren and a host of extended family and friends.

A memorial service will be held at a later time.
