Kenneth Lee Williams, Sr. was born February 16, 1947 to Henry B. and Christina Jones Williams in Des Moines, Iowa.

Ken was educated in the Des Moines Public School system, where he graduated from Des Moines Tech High. Ken was active in all sports while in high school. He was part of the historic 4x4 relay team from Tech.

On December 18, 1965, Ken was united in marriage to Yvette Smith. From that union four children were born: Sharrone, Kenneth Jr., Antonio and Christal. He also raised his daughter, Kendall and son's, Kenyata and Marcus Williams.

Ken and his family moved to San Franciso, CA in 1969 and lived there unitl 1984. While in California, Ken worked for Standard Oil. After moving back to Des Moines he obtained employment with the State of Iowa until his retirement in 2006.

Ken enjoyed spending time with his family and loved his grandchildren and great grandchildren immensely. He liked to travel and had been to see much of the United States.. He liked to tinker with cars, play dominos and cards. Ken loved all kinds of music and was a huge fan of old time western TV shows.

Early in the morning on August 18, 2012, Ken stepped from time into eternity when he answered the Master's call to rest. He was 65 years old. Preceding him in death were his father, Henry and his son Shawn Williams.

Left to remember Ken are his devoted wife, Yvette; his children, Sharrone Martinez, Christal (Larry) Gatewood, Kenneth L (Susan) Williams, Jr Antonio (Angelita) Williams, Kendall White, Kenyata Williams and Marcus Williams. He also leaves his mother, Christina Williams; his siblings, Marla Williams, Venita Williams, Lanny Williams and Barney Williams, 8 grandchildren, 4 great grandchildren and a host of extended family and friends.
