Kendall Tyrone Foster

Kendall T. Foster, the third oldest in a family of 12 children, was born May 14, 1998 in Chicago, IL to Kenyatta and Magan (Jackson) Foster. The family relocated to Des Moines when Kendall was a youngster.

Kendall attended Callanan Jr. high and was a sophomore at North High School at the time of his death. He played basketball for North and worked part time at Palmer's Deli. He was very fond of his supervisor, Ms. Patty Williams, and she thought he was a great kid. He loved hanging out at the Boys and Girls Club where he assumed a leadership role for the younger kids. Brian Clark, Ms. Jo, Ms. Christina and Nate Sturgis were like surrogate parents for Kendall. He looked up to them and valued their guidance. Kendall was funny and generous. He had a smile that would light up a room. He loved playing with his siblings, hip hop music and wanted to go to Iowa State to play basketball.

And then suddenly, he was gone... Kendall was taken from us way too soon. He passed away April 27, 2016; just days away from his 18th birthday. He was preceded in death by his grandfather, Harvey House and grandmother, Jerline Foster.

Precious memories are left with Kendall's parent, Kenyatta and Magan (Jackson) Foster; his siblings, Keadra, Kenyatta Jr., Keemarey, Kenatha, Kendrick, Kenya, Kenyetta, Kentarey, Kia, Keemoney, Kenyon, Takyla and Talisa; grandparents, Curtis Foster Sr., Ava Jackson and Lathan Dunlap; great grandmother, Alice Wilkes; his aunts, Tokilia, Kashira and Lisa; his uncles, Curtis Jr, Theopolis, Eddie, Kennan, Marte; a host of great aunts, great uncles, cousins and many, many friends.

Funeral services will be held at Resurrection Baptist Church, Chicago, IL at 11 am Saturday, May 7, 2016. A.R. Leake and Sons are in charge of Chicago services.
