Joseph Kariuki

.Joseph M. Kariuki was born December 31, 1965 in Gathaithi Kenya to Stephen Kariuki Cichimu and Prisillah Wachuka (Macharia) Kariuki; the youngest of five children.

Joseph completed his primary education at Kionjoini High School in Mranga, Kenya. He went on to obtain certification from Des Moines Area Community College.

Joseph immigrated to the United States and moved to Des Moines ten years ago. He was employed by Kass FM Express as a truck driver.

Joseph was a member of Imani Family Church were he served in the Men's Ministry.

On November 16, 2003, Joseph married the former Jane Mwihaki Muchiri, in Kenya. They were blessed with three children, Keveth, Carol and Willy.

When Joseph wasn't working he was spending time with his family and enjoying his hobbies of swimming, fishing, skiing, rock climbing and snow boarding. He was very adventurous and loved exploring new locals. Joseph was also an avid photographer. Nature was his best friend and he spent as much time outdoors as he could.

On September 26, 2014 Joseph passed away at the age of 48. Preceding him in death was his father, Stephen.

Left to cherish Joseph's memory are his wife, Jane; his children, Keveth, Carol and Willy Maina; his mother, Pricillah Kariuki, his four siblings and extended family and friends.
