John W. Linton was born on September 22, 1928, in Haverford, Pennsylvania to William and Sarah Linton, who emigrated from Northern Ireland. John was the first of his family born in the United States.
John was blessed with six children whom he loved dearly: Elaine, Christina, Sherry, Brenda, Sally and Jack.
John could accomplish anything he set his mind to do. He taught himself how to read, with the aid of his daughter, Elaine. John was known for his signature "Fire Engine Red Hair". John's interests included reading, listening to gospel and country music, automobiles and football. He also was an avid fan of the Green Bay Packers. Most of all John was a man of faith. He found solace in reading theBible and spending time with the Lord in prayer.
John was called home to be with the Lord on March 8, 2015. He was reunited on the other side with two of his children, Sally O'Steen and Jack Linton; a grandson, Nicholas Krawczyk; his parents, William and Sarah Linton; brother, Norman Linton; and 2 sisters, Jean Wohler and Christina (Nina) Sherman.
Left to cherish John's memory are four daughters, Elaine (Jim) Krawczyk, Christina (Maynard) Amdahl, Sherry Linton and Brenda Linton; his grandchildren, Melissa, Jacalyn, Alison Krawczyk, Charles O'Steen, Sam and Heather Rosewall, Hailey Linton and Isaiah Aguinaga and ten great-grandchildren; a sister, Margaret Post and a host of other relatives and friends.
