Deacon John Mosley was born on January 19, 1935 in Lauderdale, AL. He was educated in the local school district. After graduating Mr. Mosley enlisted into to the United States Air Force. He proudly served his country until he was honorably discharged in 1956.
Following his military service, Mr. Mosley would settle in Fort Dodge, IA. There he worked as an electrical engineer for Hormel Meat Packing. Along life's path, John would meet his lovely wife, Mary, who preceded him in death. He will also be remembered as a loving father to his children whom he loved to spend time with.
Mr. Mosley was a member of 2nd Baptist Church in Fort Dodge, IA. He loved going to church and served in many capacities including singing in the choir and serving on the deacon board. His dedicated service to the church and his pastor earned him the distinguished honor of serving as the deacon board chair until the Lord called him to rest.
Mr. Mosley's down time was filled with fun, family and friends. He enjoyed laughing and sharing while playing a good ol' game of dominoes or cards. He also was a great cook. His goulash, greens and fried chicken will be missed by all.
On June 27, 2015 Deacon Mosley was called from labor to reward. He was greeted on the other side by his wife, Mary; parents, a brother, Glenden Mosley and a sister, Anabelle Lawston.
Left to carry on Deacon Mosley's legacy are his children, Doris, Lois, Linda, Daphine, Iris, Tressa, John Jr., John Boy, Stevie, and Michael; sisters, Lula Mae, Stella and Juanita; his brother, Junior and a host of grandchildren, nieces, nephews, other relatives and friends.
