Jimmie L Cameron, Sr.

Mr. Jimmie L Cameron Sr. 64, husband of Juanita Cameron, passed away October 19, 2018.

Homegoing services will be held at 11 am Saturday, October 27, 2018 at Celebration Family Worship Center, 6204 S.W. 9th Street. Visitation at the church will be one hour prior to services. There will be no viewing after the eulogy. Visitation at the funeral home will take place Friday, October 26 from 10 am to 5 pm.

Jimmie Lee Cameron, Sr. was born January 4, 1954 in Holly Spring, MS to Lawrence and Eula (Jones) Cameron. He was educated in the New Albany, Mississippi School system where he attended B.F. Ford and W.P. Daniel Schools. He graduated and entered the Job Corp where he obtained his certification in Auto Mechanics.

Jimmie could fix just about anything. He was employed as a Sewing Machine Mechanic for many years; the whole family came to Jimmie if they had a problem with their car.

Jimmie gave his life to the Lord and was a faithful member of Celebration Worship Center. He believed ," Be transformed by the renewing of your mind. (Romans 12:2) . He played the guitar by ear and offered his praise by playing at Greater Love (where he was a minister) and making sure the church was clean. Jimmie was very particular about Gods house and his too. Jimmie was a quiet person, who liked the solitary pursuit of fishing and listening to Quartet music. The Canton Spirituals were his favorite. Jimmie could sing too, but he never would in public. He liked old cars and collected miniatures of them; and Jimmie thought he was the BBQ specialist!

Jimmie is preceded in death by his son, Jimmie Jr; parents, Lawrence Cameron Sr. and Eula Cameron; and his two brothers, Charlie and Lawyer L. Cameron.

Left to cherish his memory is his wife of 47 years, Juanita Cameron; daughter, Sharon Jenkins; siblings, James W. Cameron, Pearl Carroll, Hazel Jones, Lexie Penson, Lawrence Jr. Cameron, Henry Cameron, Stella Berry; grandchildren, Nashon Cameron, Natyia Cameron, Kenneth Jenkins, Kendric Jenkins and Tricia Jenkins, a host of extended family and friends.
