Mr. Jesse Lee Taylor Jr. was born on October 26, 1951 to Jesse and Anna Mae (Turner) Taylor Sr. in Omaha, NE. His family relocated to Des Moines, IA during his adolescent years. He would continue is education in the Des Moines School District and graduate from North High School. Later in life he would further his education at Des Moines Area Community College and Grand Canyon University.
Mr. Taylor worked in several fields throughout his life by most recently worked as a welder.
Jesse was introduced to his Lord and Savior Jesus Christ at a young age. He was currently a member of Elpis Christion Fellowship. There, he enjoyed attending Bible Study. His thirst for knowledge compelled him to ask question after question to figure out every detail, big or small.
Mr. Taylor loved music! He enjoyed listening to old school R&B music. He also was a singer himself. Earlier in life, Mr. Taylor was a member of the group The 3 Amigos. Jesse also had a loving, generous spirit with a touch of jokester mixed in.
On September 1, 2015 Jesse was called from labor to reward. He was greeted on the other side by his parents, Jesse Sr. and Anna Mae; grandparents, Gilbert Turner, Frank Taylor and Betty Artie and brother-in-law, Terry Thomas.
Left to cherish his memory are his children, Michael Swait and J.T. Jennings; a grandson, Michael; great-granddaughter Briana; siblings, Anna Thomas, James Taylor, Darlene (Tommy) Taylor, Bertha (Kervin) Taylor, Kefus Fats and Camille Brewer; special friends, Nyo Rankins, Lorraine Smith and Mary Jenkins and a host of nieces, nephews other relatives and friends.
