Jeffery (Jeff Jellyroll) Dwayne Gillom, Sr. was born to Johnnie Mae Gillom and Robert Blackman on June13, 1963. Jeffery attended and received his education though the Kansas City, Kansas School District. Jeff (jellyroll) as we called him was a Jack of all trades, He knew how to do all things you could think of, but most of all he was a MASTER CHEF. His cooking was the best and bought family and friends together. Gumbo and his barbecue will be the two things our family will truly miss the most.
He was the Master of Two - Stepping and would teach anyone how to do it right. He was the champ in spades and lets not even talk about Bad Boy in dominos. Jeffery accepted Christ later in life at Mount Olive Baptist Church. He was united in marriage to Gaylynne Shade on July 29, 1995 where he gained 3 sons whom he adorned and loved like his own. Although the marriage ended they remained very good friends up until his death, Jeffery was the best father, grandpa, brother, uncle, cousin, and friend to all whom will miss and love him deeply.
Jeffery was tragically taken from this world on April 4, 2022 at the age of 59. Meeting him on the wonderful side of heaven is his Mother, Johnnie Mae Wheeler, whom he deeply missed after her passing; father, Robert Blackman and great-grandson Messiah.
Left to cherish his beautiful memories are his children Carlotta (Bryan) Conklin, Dinesha Hill, Janelle Ward, Camaryn Butts, Dwayne Ward, and Jeffery Gilliom Jr.; stepchildren, but REAL kids to him always and forever no doubt about that are, Jordan Shade, Kenneth (Tara) Washington, and Frankie Washington; His most precious Jewels; his grand-children, Azariah Gillom, Bryan Conklin Jr, Destiny Lain, Tristan Hill, Bryce Conklin, and last but not least, Grandpa Sassy Lady Bryniah Conklin. Surviving siblings, Gary (Janet A. Reed- Gillom), Latonja Gillom, Kenneth Gillom Sr, and the body of the bunch, Doretta Gillom. A host of Nieces, Nephews, Uncles, Aunties, Cousins and friends. So many memories are left for us all to cherish and each one is special No doubt, but the most and best memory is Knowing and Loving him.
