Jason Allen Strode was born to Archie Simmons and Toyia Strode Sr. on May 4, 1973. He was raised and educated in the Des Moines area, graduating from Hoover High School.
He was known to his family and friends as a super dad who was loving, supportive and instructive. Jason was also known as a comedian. He loved to tell jokes, and maybe a few nasty ones. He was a loyal friend who would never turn his back on anyone and he never complained about having to lend a hand.
With his clear, disarming and sensitive spirit, Jason was a father figure to everyone-especially young people. He was a special kind of independent and outgoing person, who was very popular with the ladies. Over time, Jason would become magnetic-north for many, and an anchor for his sister.
Jason loved all things green, old school hip-hop from the 80s and 90s and "feel-good" music. He also loved keeping up with everyone on Facebook. But most of all, Jason loved his children, and living life.
Jason left this life on September 23, 2017. Waiting to greet him on the other side are his father, Archie Simmons; mother, Toyia Strode, Sr and grandfather, Reverend Henry Simmons.
Left to cherish his memory are his children: Javion Allen Strode, Tashauna Marie Johnson; sister, Toyia Strode Jr.; grandchildren: Leilani Johnson, JaKynleigh Henning, grandparents: Genevia Johnson-Hughes and Theresa Simmons along with many aunts, uncles, acquired children and friends.Memorial Service
