James Robinson

James Robinson

James Edward "Butchie" (Jimmie) Robinson was born to James Saunders and Viola Robinson on August 16, 1951, in Des Moines, Iowa. He was raised and educated in the Des Moines public school system, graduating from North High School with the class of 1970. Following his primary education, James attended the University of Wisconsin in Stevens Point, Wisconsin. He would go on to graduate from the University with a Bachelors in Business and Marketing.

While attending college in Wisconsin, James met Patricia. The two united in marriage on November 4, 1987. James later relocated to Chicago, Illinois to seek out better opportunities. In 2017, James returned to Des Moines, Iowa, to reconnect with his family and friends.

James had many loves in his life. He loved basketball (namely the Chicago Bulls), Tae Kwon Do, Karate and women. He also had a penchant for loud clothing and flamboyant shoes, as well as accessories to pull it all together. James was always a comedian around his friends or family; He loved to entertain everyone. James was also an avid reader, and continued to educate himself until his passing. He was a self described loner, but his best friend Chuckie James would probably argue with that point.

James is preceded in death by his parents, James Saunders and Viola Robinson; siblings, Nora Evans, Freddie Flagg and Rico and Larry Robinson.

Left to cherish his memory are his children, Shantel Lewis, James Banks, Jonathan Robinson, Frank Robinson; step-daughter, Casandria Sanders; siblings, Valeria Council, Billie Burke Robinson, Michael Robinson, Patricia Flagg, Pernell Flagg, Craig Flagg; 11 grandchildren, 2 great-grandchildren and a host of extended family and friends.
