Jacqueline Kay Parkey was born to J. Wilbur Jones Jr. And Ruth (Mendenhall) Jones on December 3, 1945, in Indianola, Iowa. She was raised and educated in the area, graduating from the Indianola public school system in 1963. Later in life, she would marry James L. Wright. Together, the two would make their home in Des Moines. James would pass away in 1985.
Jacqueline worked as a certified nursing assistant for the Scottish Rite Park in Des Moines, and also volunteering for Lutheran Services in Iowa until she retired and settled in as a homemaker to raise their family. Jacqueline would later marry Thomas Parkey and spent many wonderful years together until his passing in 2007.
Jacqueline loved listening to music; especially Bob Marley as well as Tito Santana and Eric Clapton. She also loved cooking! The family fondly remembers her Spanish rice and when she would cook coon or turtle, and of course her sweet potato pie at Thanksgiving. But most of all she loved being with her family and spoiling her grandchildren-if the grandkids were not in school; they were at grandmas!
Jacqueline is preceded in death by her parents, J. Wilbur Jones Jr. and Ruth (Mendenhall) Jones; spouses, James L. Wright and Thomas Parkey.
Left to cherish her memory are her children, Jim (Tammy) Wright, Jason Wright; siblings, Norman Jones; grandchildren, Autumn (Aarron) Roubal, Nathan McLemore, Rick (Joanna) Camper, Cierra Odom, Jay (Miciah) Wright, Hailey Thayer, David (Lauren) Wright, Trey Thayer, Jamarie (Isaiah) Wright; 12 great-grandchildren as well as a host of extended family and friends.
