Jackie Lee Dameron- Jackson was born January 24, 1937, in Des Moines, IA to Myrtle Dameron Jackson and Harold Jackson, Sr.Jackie was the eldest of twelve children and he was educated in the Des Moines Public School system.
Jackie enlisted in the United States Navy in 1955 and was stationed on the USS Saratoga. He experienced many different cultures and met people all over the world during his travels.
Jackie married Marsha Louise Bush in 1961 and for 27 years they raised their two daughters, Stephanie Denise and Kimberly Gwen.
Jackie worked at he Firestone tire and Rubber plant for 20 years as a tire builder. After retirement he took on janitorial work until his health declined.
Jackie was very active and enjoyed life. He had many passions: dancing the mamba to Latin music, swimming and roller and ice skating, bike riding and tennis. He loved cooking his famous pizza for family and friends, but most of all he loved taking his grandchildren fishing.
Jackie was a true believer in Jehovah God and was a devoted Jehovah's Witness. He spent his time witnessing to others about Jehovah, studying, fellowshipping and helping others in need.
Jackie will always be remembered by his "big smile", his warm heart, his willingness to share stories about his life experiences, spending time with his
children and grandchildren, and always being there for anyone in need.
Jackie was a father, friend and a faithful servant to Jehovah.
Preceding Jackie in his death are his wife, Marsha; father, Harold; his birth father , Lucian, Sr.; brothers, Harold, Finnis and Ronnie; sisters, Patricia and Pat.
Jackie leaves to mourn, his daughters, Stephanie and Kimberly; his grandchildren Dezeree, Stephon, Ladoshia, Nekko and Jermiah; his sisters, Myrthy, Karlyano, Judy; brother, Lucian Jr. along with a host of extended family and friends.
Pa, Thank you for your guidance and trust and your solid advice
For your labor of love and for each sacrifice
And for giving it your all without thinking twice
You're truly loved and respected so much.
You will be so greatly missed but
will live always in our hearts.
