Idella Jackson passed away on April 28, 2023.
Funeral services will be held at 1pm Saturday, May 13, 2023 at Henderson's Funeral Home Chapel.
A public visitation will be held Friday from 5 to 7 pm.
Idella "Peaches" Jackson was born to the union of John and Lola Mae Jackson on July 25,1965 in Yazoo, Ms. The family later on, moved to Gary, IN where Idella and her 7 siblings were raised. Idella attended Horace Mann High School; where after graduating high school Idella relocated to San Diego, Ca with her daughters Sharnell Latrice and Sophia Lanee. After residing in California for nearly two decades Idella moved to Biloxi, Ms. In 2005 Idella survived Hurricane Katrina. After traveling across many states Idella found her home in Des Moines, IA and was employed with Broadlawns Medical Center.
Idella was preceded in death by her mother Lola Mae and Father John Alfred Jackson, Brothers, Rubin Isaac and Eddie James Jackson, Sister, Frankie Mae Jackson. She is survived by daughters Sharnell and Sophia Jackson (Antoine) Bennett. Sisters Delores (Lonnie) Mullins of Des Moines, IA., Valerie Nunn "Carmen" of Chicago, IL ,Rosie (Ronald) Blake of Dayton, OH. Brother Sherman (Maggie) Isaac of Des Moines, IA. 5 Grandkids include Justice Jackson, Aaliyah Jackson, Vernia Conley Jr, Jazzmone Jackson Bennett-Keller(Nathaniel Keller) and Glenn Miller III,
also great-grandchildren, Knowledge and Power James. A host of cousins, nieces, nephews and friends, also Special friend of many years Jackie Sugss.
All About You Idella
From Idella's supreme sense of fashion, to her radiant smile, and her heart so full of life she was exceptional. Loved looking out for others and kept family close. A true leader; confident woman. Idella was realer than most, she could have you laughing for days !
Her favorite hobbies were shopping till you drop !Talking to her family while enjoying her days with her great grandchildren. Idella and her late sister Frankie had the best taste in music, from The Enchantments to Deitrick Haddon etc..., they would be
showing family members numerous records that we all sing till this day. Endless memories , long conversations , countless pictures cant replace you but hopefully you can hear us reminiscing the great days we shared with our beloved Idella "Peaches" Jackson.
Her saying "Am I Right or Wrong" will forever live through her children and grandchildren.
Idella was a great Sister, Mother, Cousin, Aunt, Grand & Great Grandmother &Friend We Jackson's will forever carry your name in pride and confidence just like you!
