Harold Welch

Harold Welch passed away on August 5, 2019.

Harold Howard Welch Jr. was born to Harold Welch Sr. and Elizabeth Roane on February 2, 1939. He was raised and educated in the Des Moines public school system, attending East High. Following his primary education, Harold enlisted in the United States Army. After receiving his discharge, Harold and Evelyn Marie Aaron were united in marriage. On June 6, 2009, Evelyn passed away.

Later in life, on March 1, 2011, Harold would wed Jacqueline Twana Pender in Des Moines, Iowa. Together, they would spend Harolds remaining time together. On August, 5, 2019, Harold would step from time into eternity.

Harold was an avid outdoorsman but he LOVED to go fishing! Anytime was the right time to head out, even in the middle of winter. But his interests werent only in the rivers and streams. Harold also enjoyed hunting and camping at Red Rock. He was also a man of many talents, Harold was even gifted in the kitchen. The family fondly remembers Harold listening to B.B. King and hosting a fish-fry in the yard, and his deep fried turkeys on Thanksgiving. Often you could find him working in his garden. But if you couldnt find him there, you could most certainly find Harold at the Hawkeye Elks Lodge #160, where he was a member. Harold served in many positions including that of Exalted Ruler. He also held the distinguished honor of being a Past Grand Exalted Ruler.

Left to cherish his memory is his wife, Jacqueline Welch; children, Harold Welch III, Lometa Welch, Essence Welch; siblings, Grandville Welch, Michael Welch Sr., Larry Welch Sr., Jack Welch, Ronald Welch Sr.; grandchildren, LaShonna Welch, Satoya Welch, Breauna Wall, Destani Welch, Harold Welch IV, DeAndre Welch, Izayah Welch and 5 great-grandchildren as well as a host of nieces nephews extended family and friends.
