Harold 'Apache' Wright

Harold "Apache" Wright was born December 18, 1940 to Ray and Mary Coley Wright in Mystic, Iowa.

Harold completed his primary and secondary education in the Rockford, Il Public School system where he graduated.

Harold's sister had settled in Des Moines, so he followed her here for more job opportunities. It proved to be a good move. He found employment with the State of Iowa, in the construction industry and stayed with it until his retirement.

When Harold wasn't working he loved to fish, shoot pool and play dominoes. He was a good cook who aspired to the title of "Grill Master". Harold was a great dancer, who loved dancing to music from the 50's. Those old doo-wop tunes, held a special magic for him. Harold also played a mean piano. He was also a member of North Star Lodge #2 PHA. Harold was a caring father and good husband to Cheryl Wilson Wright, whom he married in 1990.

May 22, 2016, Harold answered the Master's call to rest. He was 75 years old. Preceding Harold in death are his parents.

Left to mourn Harold's passing are his wife, Cheryl Wright; his sons, Demetrius and Montagga of Kansas City, KS and Jordan Wright of Des Moines; his daughter, Lisa Wright of Kansas City, KS; two stepsons, James Wilson of Canada and Jerome Wilson of Wausau, WI. Harold also leaves his siblings, Mary Frances Grady of Davenport, IA, Lamont Wright of Fayetteville, AR and Bill Wright of Des Moines, IA, 14 grandchildren, 8 1/2 great grandchildren who call him Papa and a host of nieces, nephews and cousins.

Per Harold's request, no services are planned.
