Glyndoris Jean Williams

Glyndoris passed away on January 12, 2023.

Services for Glyndoris Williams will be held Friday January 20th, 2023 at Corinthian Baptist Church, Visitation will be from 10 - 12 noon, Service starts at 12 noon. We will be laying Mrs. Williams to rest on Monday January 23rd, 2023 at Iowa Veterans Cemetery. 

Glyndoris Jean (King) Williams was born on January 28, 1925 to Clarence William King and Elsie Allen King in Des Moines, IA. She completed her primary education in the Des Moines Public School system and graduated from North High School.

In 1950 Glyndoris married the love of her life, Donald H. Williams. They built a life together in Des Moines. Glyndoris was a devoted mother to her five children. She volunteered at the children's schools, led the Boy Scout Troops and was active in her church. She loved to bake and was an avid quilter. She liked bowling and sewing also. On Sunday’s while she was preparing the family meal she would watch and sing along the many religious shows on TV. She and Don attended Corinthian Baptist for many years until the pandemic came. As a member she served on the Mother’s Board and was the treasurer of the Patron’s board for a time.

Glyndoris passed away on January 12, 2023 at the age of 97. She was greeted on the other side by her husband, Donald; her son, Robert; her parents, Clarence and Elsie King; her brothers, Clarence Jr and Leon and her sisters, Mildred, Ella and Irene.

Glyndoris leaves cherished memories with her children, Richard Williams, Lois Hollowell, Linda Williams and Mark Williams; her sisters, Shirley Murphy and Rosie Gatewood and 10 beloved grandchildren.
