Gerald Clarence Smith, Jr.

Gerald C Smith, 65 passed away February 8, 2021.

Gerald was educated in the Des Moines Public School system. He graduated from Des Moines East High where he ran track, played baseball and football.

He was self employed as a transporter and hauler.

Gerald enjoyed spending time with his family cooking and making every body he crossed paths with, laugh. He was known as the protector of his family. There was nothing he wouldn't do to help them.

Gerald was a member of Christ Apostolic Temple under the leadership of the late Bishop Jeremiah Reed. He continued his membership under the current pastor, Bishop Dwight A. Reed.

Gerald was preceded in death by his parents, Gerald Smith, Sr. and Margaret Smith; brothers, Lonnie and Virgil Smith; his grandmother, Virgie Rivers and nephews Sammy Kemp and Jason Smith.

He is survived by his children, Che (Carrie) Moore, Lisa Rae Smith, Jr, Gerald C Smith III, Gerard Henderson, Tyler Wells, Jeremy Jamison, Germar Meyers-Smith; his siblings, Clarice Smith-Kemp and Bobby Smith Sr; a host of grandchildren, great grandchildren, nieces and nephews.Visitation
