George Zean was born on January 1, 1920 in Dorwulu, Liberia to Garee Zian and Blanyonnah Zonjah.
Along life's path George met Annie. George courted Annie until she accepted his hand in marriage. The two were joined in holy matrimony and were blessed with five children.
George was a music aficionado. He was a skilled guitarist and singer. He also loved to dance. Proud of his Liberian roots, he was an active member of the Liberian Association. And all will miss his great sense of humor. George was also good with his hands and had an affinity for fixing cars. This combination aided him in his chosen profession as a chief auto mechanic.
At a young age, George was introduced to the gospel of Jesus Christ. He confessed Christ as his Lord and Savior and would often use his musical gifts to sing his praises. George was an active member of the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter Day Saints in West Des Moines, IA.
George passed away peacefully on August 27, 2016. He was preceeded in death by his wife, Annie; son, Wilson and his parents, Garee and Blanyonnah
Left to cherish his memory are four children, Ziantwen Yankevenneh, Janet, Annie K. Zian and Benitor Zian, 37 grandchildren, 30 great-grandchildren, 6 great great-grandchildren and a host of other relatives and friends.
