WHAT A CELEBRATION! The band played and sang. There were people, wall to wall here to honor Frankie Colbert!
Franklin Joseph Colbert was born to Anthony W. Sr. and Brenda K. Colbert on August 26, 1986 in Tarzana California. He was educated in the Des Moines public Schools and graduated from Roosevelt High School.
He attended Iowa State University and graduated with honors in 2018 from Des Moines Area Community College in Des Moines, Iowa with a degree in computer science.
Franklin was blessed with a beautiful daughter, (Aubrielle Kay Gwinn). His daughter, and the love of his life, Katie Quandt made Franklins life complete.
Frankie was an extremely private person who loved to read and enjoyed riding unicycles and motorcycles. Born and raised in the church, Franklin accepted Christ at an early age, it was there that his love for music first bloomed. That love for music enabled him to tour with the legendary "Nappy Roots". His music touched so many people. Frankie, was a sensitive and thoughtful person, given to philosophical conversations. He observed the world around him and sometimes wondered, "Why?" His big smile and sense of humor will be missed by all who knew him.
Franklin passed away on July 2, 2019. Left to cherish his memories are his daughter; Aubrielle Kay Gwinn; parents Anthony William Colbert, Brenda K Colbert; his brothers, Anthony W. (Debbie) Colbert, Jr and children; James, Chardae, Myla and Anthony III; Brion J Colbert and his children, Monae Owens, Mia Windsor, James and Marcus Colbert and special people in his life, Katie Quandt, Brad Miller, Ian Griffith and Seth I Jamison, along with extended family and friends.
