Mrs. Exie Lena Marshall (Reese Cooper) passed away December 21, 2022.
A Homegoing service is planned for 1 pm Wednesday, February 9, 2022 at Maple Street Baptist Church with burial to follow at Glendale Cemetery. A full obit will follow shortly.
Masks are required for service and social distancing for non family groups is strongly recommended.
Exie Lena (Cooper) Marshall was born August 1, 1928 to Mary Reese Cooper and Charlie Cooper in Mt. Pleasant, TX. Exie was one of eight children.
Exie started her education in Mt. Pleasant, but she went back to school and graduated from Des Moines Tech High school in 1968.
Exie was employed at Latin Industries, sewing as a mender until her retirement in 1985.
At an early age, Exie became a member of Maple Street Baptist Church under the leadership of Reverend George Parrish. She served on the Usher Board, Pastors Aide Committee, Mission Board and Mothers Board. She also sang in the Gospel Choir for over 40 years and the Wings of Grace singing group.
Exie was united in marriage on December 31, 1945 to Pascal P. Marshall. They were married 58 years until his passing in 2005. During this union they were blessed with four children.
Exie loved going to church, reading the Bible, sewing (she made a lot of her own clothing), gardening and word search puzzles.
On December 21, 2021, Exie answered the Masters call to rest. She was 93 years old. Preceding her in death were her parents; her children, Pascal Jr, Florence and Lewis James and Patricia; her husband, Pascal Marshall, Sr., her brothers and sisters.
Left to cherish her memory are her granddaughter, Quinsetta; her nephew, Eddie Cooper, god-daughter, Loretta Hall; other grandchildren, great grandchildren, cousins, extended family, church family and friends.
