Esther Elaine Fryer-Lewis

Mother Esther Elaine Fryer-Lewis was born on January 27, 1938 to Manson and Margie (Shelton) James, in Des Moines, IA. She was educated in the Des Moines School District and graduated from North High School.

Mother Lewis professed Jesus Christ as her Lord and Savior at a young age and made a life long commitment to serve him. She was a proud member of Bread of Life Church of God in Christ. There she served on the Mothers Board, State Usher Board, Iowa Jurisdictional Sunday Schools treasurer and secretary, Assistant Financial Secretary of Bread of Life and sang in the choir. She also attend the annual convocation regularly.

In addition to sharing the love of Christ with others through various ministries, she also liked to share his love through her culinary delights. Her lemon cake was absolutely loved by all who had the pleasure eating one of her meals. Mother Lewis also enjoyed taking trips from time to time.

On September 24, 2020, Mother Lewis was called from labor to sweet reward. Eagerly waiting her arrival on the other side were her parents, Mason and Margie James; siblings, Steven Issac James, Pearl Rene Daniels, Madeline Montgomery, Rebecca James and Theodore Daniels and niece, Cheryl Daniels.

Left to carry on Mother Lewis legacy is her loving husband, Elder Ray E. Lewis; stepdaughter, Rayjeana Lewis; step grandchildren, Donnea Witherspooon and Raya Lewis; sister, Marjorie McGaw; nieces, Rosea Daniels, Linda Daniels, Karen Daniels and Rose Daniels; nephews, Theodore "Teddy" Daniels, Floyd Wright and a host of other relatives and friends.
