Earl David Colton

Earl David Colton, Jr was born September 17, 1954 in Des Moines, IA to Earl D and Ella Mae (Jones) Colton. He was educated in the Des Moines Public School systems where he graduated from Des Moines East High school. As a youngster he liked running track. He even ran in the Drake Relays. he was also a life long Dallas Cowboy fan.

Earl was employed by John Deere/Waterloo as a Foreman for over 20 years. He had a strong work ethic. He didn't like missing work for even a day! He would deviate from his routine to go fishing, though. He loved spending a lazy day on the bank of the river. But Earl's favorite thing was spending time with his family. He was a big jokester and loved teasing you. It was all in fun though and he really could keep you laughing.

Earl passed away on February 7, 2017 at University Hospitals in Iowa City, after a brief illness. He was 63 years old. He was preceded in death by his parents and his brother, Stephen Colton.

Earl is survived by his children, Mia Mae Colton Lynch of Republic, MO and Little Earl Colton Jr of Des Moines, IA; his siblings, Karen Colton Bradley (Leon), Darwin Colton and David Colton; his grandchildren Nehemiah, Colby and Tayjon extended family and friends.
