Dr. Paul Godfrey Williams was born June 9, 1921, in Des Moines, Iowa, the youngest child of Godfrey and Ethel O. (Wells) Williams.
Paul was educated in the Des Moines Public school system where he graduated from North High School. He attained his BA from Drake University and then attended Meharry Medical School in Nashville, Tennessee he completed training as a licensed Psychiatrist at Wayne University. He interned at Frankford Hospital in Philadelphia and did his residency at Wayne County general hospital in Eloise, MI. He moved to Los Angeles and continued practicing there until his retirement. Paul interrupted his studies with a brief stint in the United States Army during World War II.
Paul was an avid tennis player and was once a member of the Hill Top Tennis Club of Des Moines. He was also active in the Super Senior Tennis Association and Kappa Alpha Psi .
Paul passed away on September 22, 2017 in Los Angeles, California after a short illness. He is survived by his sister, Catherine Williams of Des Moines, IA; his nephew, Atty. Thomas Clinton of Denver, Colorado; his dear friends and caretakers, Queen Patterson and Sasiya Akinbami; two grand nieces and a grand nephew, several cousins and many loyal friends. Memorial Service
