Doyle Buckner

Doyle Leonard Buckner was born on October 21, 1991 to Antoine Buckner and Bridget Stovall. He was educated in the Des Moines Public School District and graduated from East High School in 2010. He continued his education at Des Moines Area Community College.



Doyle confessed Jesus Christ as his Lord and Savior at a young age. He was a lifelong member of Bethel AME church. He was a member of the Sunday school and Conference Drama Groups.



Doyle was full of life and quite the entertainer. His sense of humor was second to none (with a touch of ornery). He was a great addition to the Sunday School Drama Group. You could say he was made for the spotlight. He also had a knack for drawing and aspired to be a cartoonist. An adventurous young man, Doyle was well traveled and never afraid to strike out on his own. Doyle never met a stranger, he could talk to anyone. His "Make a Wish Foundation" trip to Disney World was always one of his favorites.



Doyle was called home to be with the Lord on September 1, 2014. He was reunited on the other side with his grandmothers, Marcelline Stovall, Carroll Stovall and Edith Buckner and grandfather, Russell Buckner.



Doyle will be missed by his parents Bridget (Demery) Stovall-Butts and Antione Buckner of Minneapolis, MN; siblings, Simone, Cierra, Tristan Nathaniel, Natasha, and Mariah all of Minnesota; grandfather, Leonard Stovall of Des Moines; grandmother, Merydine Buckner of Chicago, IL; uncles, David (Diane) Stovall, Andre' Buckner, Lavell Buckner, LaChonce Buckner, Emmanuel Buckner; aunts, Rev. Monica Stovall, Tracey Stovall and LaTasha; cousin, DeRon Richardson and a host of other relatives and friends.

Memorials may be made to Blank Children's Hospital or Childserve.
