Donna Mae Watson

Donna Mae (Dameron) Watson-Blount was born on January 18, 1944 to Howel and Ollie (Fleetwood) Dameron in Des Moines, IA. She was educated in the Des Moines School District and graduated from Des Moines Technical High School.



Donna was blessed with five children whom she loved dearly: Terri, Edward, Melvin, Donnettea and Joseph.



Donna had an easy going spirit but wouldn't hesitate to let you know if you fell out of line. She was a woman of many talents. Her competitive spirit motivated her as she competed in bowling and pool leagues. She also had a flare for fashion. She was an accomplished seamstress, who often made her own clothes. Her stylish ensembles often won best dressed contests. Donna was also a great cook. Her lasagna, shrimp dip and ham rolls are a delicacy that will be missed ath e family gatherings. She loved spending time with family.



Donna peacefully fell asleep on March 23, 2015 at Mercy Hospital. She was preceded in death by her parents Howel and Ollie Dameron; a grand-daughter, Sheila Watson; two brothers, Henry and Clarence; five aunts, Lydia Burton, Beatrice Lowery, Helen Throthton, Margarette Milton and Francis Colbert; four uncles, Hampton, Joe, George and Clarence Dameron.



Donna leaves to cherish her memory her husband, DeWayne Blount; her children, Terrie (Will) Watson, Edward (Sheila) Watson, Melvin (Morleana) Watson, Joseph Watson and Donnettea Watson; grandchildren, Shilonda, Stephanie, Cierra, Deteriana, Dataveon (Tammara), Vedonte, Deontaye, Daterius, Melvonte, Caudairous of Milwaukee, WI, Victoria and Asia of Cedar Rapids, IA, Hope of Arizona, Warnell and DeShaun of Des Moines, IA, Antwon (Adaleigh) of West Virginia; 16 great-grandchildren; sisters, Tresa Davis-Talton, Sandra (Jerry) Robinson, Lydia (Rev. Robert) Dixon all of Des Moines, IA and Catherine (Garry) Dameron of Kansas City, MO; brothers, Charles, Garry (Ronda) and John (Karen) Dameron; and uncle, Irvin Dameron, sister-in-law, Virginia Dameron; god-daughter, Linda Gross and a host of other relatives and friends.
