Doloris Heath

Doloris Heath passed away July 27, 2022. Services are planned for Friday, August, 5, 2022 at King of Kings Missionary Baptist Church. Visitation will be held from 11am-1pm. Services begin at 1pm.

Doloris M. Heath was born to John Harris and Leola G. (Chaney) Withers on April 4, 1933 in Lovilia, IA. She was educated in the Des Moines Public School System and graduated from North High. After graduating from high school Doloris married the love of her life, Rev. William S. Heath. From that union they had 2 sons, William and Tony.

Doloris worked for the City of Des Moines as a clerk typist in the Transportation Department. She retired after 37.5 years.

Doloris was a faithful servant of God. She and her husband were long time members of Shiloh Missionary Baptist church. They later moved their membership to King of Kings Missionary Baptist Church. Doloris was a Titus II Woman and Senior Mother at King of Kings. She mentored and supported various groups that empowered young women. Doloris learned how to play the piano and shared her gift by teaching others to play. She also had a beautiful singing voice which she shared by singing in the choir.

Doloris had many interests, cooking, baking, knitting, sewing and traveling. Most of all she enjoyed shopping with her grandkids. She loved pets especially schnauzers. Doloris was also a sports fan, Her favorite teams were the LA Lakers and Las Vegas Raiders.

Doloris passed away at the home her husband built for them on July 27, 2022. Preceding her in death were her husband Rev. William S. Heath and her mother, Leola G (Chaney) Withers.

Doloris leaves to cherish her memory her sons, William Bernard B Heath, Tony M Heath; granddaughter, Dana M Heath; great grand children, Dedric A. Roland Jr., Ranisha N. and Canisha R Bowis; great great grandchildren, Ionna N Douglas, Dedric A Roland III, Zhavia C. Roland of Minneapolis MN; devoted family members and many dear friends. Visitation
