De'Angelo Briggs passed away on October 11, 2019. Services will be held on Monday October 21, 2019 at 11am at ELIM.
DeAngelo "Heavy" Briggs was born June 9, 1988 to Kelvin N. Briggs, Sr. and Mildred Inez Copeland in Chicago, IL. The family moved to Iowa in 1960 for a new start.
DeAngelo received his primary education in the Des Moines Public School system and had just entered the world of work. DeAngelo worked for Larrys Window Cleaning Service for a short time.
DeAngelo was a real people person. He loved to play and every day was fun time for him. He enjoyed water fights and basket ball. The Celtics were his favorite team. He liked to wear Throw Back Jerseys of his favorite teams. Like most young men, he liked music. He had a knack for rap music and could spit a freestyle rhyme on the spot. His rap name was "16 Bars". DeAngelo was just finding himself when his life took a tragic turn. He was injured in 2006 and never fully recovered.
DeAngelo made his transition from this life on October 11, 2019. He was 31 years old. He was preceded in death by his mother, Mildred Copeland and his grandmother Mary Copeland Cook.
Left to cherish DeAngelos memory are his father, Kelvin Briggs, Sr; siblings, Peter Coleman, Tuwanna Dennis, Phillip Coleman, Kelvin Briggs, Jr, Kelindre Briggs, Kiashay Briggs, Kenesha Briggs, Deontazsha Gunn, KaMariya Jackson, KyResha Briggs, Sade Bausley, Jessica Stokes, God Briggs and a host of aunts, uncles, cousins and extended family.
