Dashawn Eugene Smith

DaShawn Eugene Smith was born on March 12, 1995 to Danny Sr. and Tara (Mickens) Smith in Des Moines, IA. He was educated and graduated from the Des Moines Public School District.



DaShawn was blessed with two children whom he loved dearly, Dequavion and DeAjah.



DaShawn worked several jobs during his short career and most recently worked at Popeyes' Chicken.



He was blessed with an abundance of talents and abilities. DaShawn could school you on the basketball court; collect books during a game of tonk or display lyrical genius and word play over a hot beat. If you caught him in the shower, you would also hear him trying his hand at singing. DaShawn also enjoyed eating a big ol' bowl of cereal while watching his favorite Spongebob episodes.



On November 8, 2015 DaShawn transitioned from time into eternity. He was greeted on the other side be his grandmother, Elizabeth Smith.



Left to cherish DaShawn's memory are his children, Dequavion and DeAjah; his grandparents, Janice and Alonzo Travis; parents, Tara (Pete) Smith and Danny Smith Sr.; siblings Danny Smith Jr., Alexandria Smith, Breonna Oakley, Alexis (Jacolby) Smith, TaShae Bell, Alyssa Smith, Keyshon Smith and Taysianna and a host of other relatives and close friends.



Memorial can be made to the funeral home.
