Darryn Boles-Brooks was born October 1, 1993 to Rual Boles and Tiffaney Brooks, in Chicago, IL. Darryns family relocated to Des Moines, IA when he was young child in hopes of a safer environment and better life for Darryn. Darryn attended Findley Elementary School, Harding Middle School and North High School. Determined to suit up for sports, Darryn quickly understood the need to excel in both athletics and academics. He received many awards for his work in math and science. He also received high honors for his performance in football and basketball, earning tourney athletic letters in both sports. Darryn graduated from North High School in 2012 with his sights on continuing his education at Grandview University to study sports medicine.
Darryn developed a strong work ethic during his years in school and his engagement in sports. He served as a basketball and football coach. When facing lifes challenges, Darryn always remained steadfast and would never give up.
Darryn was called to rest on March 9, 2019. He was preceded in death by his father, Rual Boles; great-grandmothers, Ella Glen, Barbara Brooks and Luegirtha Mills; great-grandfather, Charles E. Mills; aunts, Beatrice Price, Joyce Blair and Annie Mills and great uncle, Kenneth Williams.
Left to cherish Darryns memory is his mother, Tiffaney Brooks; siblings, Darryl (Jasmine) Brooks, Vanshon Brooks, Rual Boles, Jacobie Boles, Xavier Boles and Shakiyla Carter; grandparents, Andre "Pops" and Charle Brooks, niece, Jayani Brooks; nephew, Jeremiah Brooks; stepmother, Marion Clark; god-daughter, Ava Newsome; his love, Abrina Andrews and a host of many aunts, uncles, cousins and friends too many to name who were all dear to Darryn.
