Curtis L. Caswell was born July 8, 1962 in Des Moines, Iowa to Diane (Thompson )Stovall and Wilbert N. Caswell, Jr.
Curtis was educated in the Des Moines Public School System where he attended North High School. While at North Curtis played on the football team. He loved all things football, especially wearing team jersey's. His favorite team was the Dallas Cowboys.
Curtis enlisted in the U.S. Army in 1980. He served overseas in Germany and was honorably discharged in 1983.
After returning stateside Curtis was employed as a cook for several companies. He was the life of the party and never met a stranger. A good dancer, Curtis liked entertaining, playing cards and listening to his favorite Curtis Mayfield albums or the blues. When he was by himself he was a master video gamer. He loved working and playing on his computer and listening to gospel music. Curtis was also good at bowling and liked the solitary pursuit of fishing.
And then he was gone! Curtis passed away November 1, 2016 at the age of 54. We shall forever miss his shy, sweet smile.
Left to cherish Curtis' memory are his parents, Diane (David) Stovall and Wilbert Caswell, Jr; his siblings, Diana Logan of Des Moines, IA, Anita (Lamar) Booker of Dallas, TX, Pamela (David) Parsons of Tacoma, WA, Monica (Charles) Vines of Tacoma, WA, Shelly Long of Des Moines, IA and Marco Thompson of Des Moines, IA; his aunts, Wanda Davis, Martha Farley and Francis Morrison of Des Moines, IA, uncles, Homer P Thompson, Jr, Sacramento, CA and Johnny Caswell, Des Moines, IA and a host of nieces, nephews, extended family and friends.
