Christopher Garvey Zilk was born August 18, 1999, in Des Moines, Iowa to Jason and Teresa Zilk. He was the youngest of four children.

He attended King Elementary, Windsor Elementary, Callanan Middle School, Roosevelt and Scavo High Schools. He is a 2018 graduate of Scavo High School. He also attended DMACC, later transferring to Iowa Central Community College in Fort Dodge where he studied Computer Science. He was employed with the Poke Company in Des Moines as a server, a cashier, and a giver of smiles.

Christopher was an innately curious and creative person who liked to know how things worked. He loved experimenting and learning about new and emerging tech trends. He spent hours reading and watching all things latest tech, building computers, and playing his favorite video games. He was also the familys resident tech support person, recommending the best products, restoring the internet, and convincing his mother to give up her flip phone for an iPhone. He loved trying new foods and was continually in search of the best ramen spots to introduce to family and friends. He loved music, long bike rides, a good workout, and hanging out with family and friends. He was a gentle and kind person who cared about people and animals. He loved cats, dogs, lizards, and even bugs. (His family did not share his enthusiasm for bugs which caused some interesting situations.)

Christopher departed this life in the early hours on Saturday, December 19, 2020. He is preceded in death by his paternal grandfather Charlie Moore; maternal grandfather Gerald Cook; maternal grandmother Ella Francis Amos, and maternal grandmother Roxie Carter Williams.

Left to cherish his memory is his Des Moines family; parents, Jason and Teresa Zilk; His siblings, Deon Zilk, Asana Zilk, and Amber Dasin (Serghei) of Chicago, Illinois; paternal grandmother, Donna Maas (David) of Knoxville, Iowa.

Aunts: Doris Williams, Chicago Heights, Illinois; RuthAnn Carter, Chicago Heights, Illinois; Cassandra Atkins (Darris), Columbia, Missouri; Judith Moore, Minneapolis, Minnesota; Tammy Phillips (Byron), Waterloo, Iowa.
