Catherine Talton

Catherine Bryson-Talton was born on August 9, 1932 to Eugene and Lora (Bryson) Carter, in Roanoke, Virginia

Catherine worked several jobs throughout her lifetime. She spent the majority of her working years working as a child care provider. Catherine worked at Iowa Methodist Hospital in the housekeeping department as well.

Catherine was blessed with five children, whom she loved dearly: Jeanette, David, Steven, Catherine, and Clarence Jr. And then came Arkeyia, her granddaughter whom she raised as a daughter. Catherine was a firm but loving mother. She was always upfront and brutally honest.

When Catherine wasn't caring for her children or working, she enjoyed her private time. She was a homebody and enjoyed sharpening her mind by doing word search and crossword puzzles. She also spent her free time traveling and skating.

On May 15, 2016 Catherine stepped from time into eternity. She was reunited on the other side with her parents; two children, Donald Curry and Virginia Curry; granddaughter, Mary Catherine Curry; great-grandson, Amir Thomas and siblings, Delmas, Herbert Robinson and Beatrice Mills.

Left to cherish Catherine's memory are her children, Jeanette Ashby, David (Terri) Curry, Steven (Carrie) Curry, Catherine (DeMarco) Cavil, Clarence Talton Jr. and Arkeyia Curry; 15 grandchildren, 44 great-grandchildren, 9 great-great-grandchildren; sisters, Dorothy Callister and Alice Western and a host of other relatives and friends.
