Carol Mahaney

Carol Ann (Rushing) Mahaney was born on August 6, 1948 to Robert and Katherine Rushing, in San Diego, CA. Her family would relocate to Des Moines, IA where she would finish her education her and graduate from North High School.



Along life's journey Carol met Billy Mahaney and the two were joined in holy matrimony. The couple was blessed with one son,

Billy Mahaney.



Carol worked a variety of jobs throughout her life. She worked as a cook for the majority of her career serving delicious meals to the tenants at the Iowa Jewish Home. She worked as a care giver for Metro Kids Care.



In her private moments Carol enjoyed expressing her love for her family and friends through her culinary delights. Her spaghetti, greens and fried chicken was a meal that had everyone running for more. Family barbeques were amongst her favorite past times but hates swatting at those ever present flies and other bugs. Carol was a social person and never missed an opportunity to talk and fellowship with others.



On December 25, 2015 Carol was called from labor to rest and was reunited with her friend and husband, Billy Mahaney; son, Billy; parents, Robert and Catherine and a sister, Diane Scott.



Left to cherish Carol's memory are her grand children Tearia, Terikah, Tatanea and Billy Jr.; great-grandchild, Raylon Jr.; brothers, Robert Jr. and Kenneth Rushing Sr. and a host of other relatives and friends.
