Carnelia Jane Richardson

Carnelia Jane Richardson (55), of Des Moines, Iowa, passed away on May 10th, 2017. A funeral service will be held at 1:00 pm on Friday, May 18th, 2017, at Henderson's Highland Park Funeral Home. Interment will follow at Glendale cemetery.

Carnelia Jane Richardson was born to the union of of Cecil Lee and Gloria Mae Richardson on October 24, 1961 in Des Moines, IA. Carnelia completed her general studies at Des Moines Tech High School. She was in the graduating class of 1980. Carnelia was employed by Broadlawns and Mercy Medical Centers. Most of her working career she worked as a Medical Transcriptionist. Carnelia was involved with life as she enjoyed everything she did. She loved to garden and draw flowers. At the community theatre she was involved in Annie Get Your Gun and Ragtime with her daughter, Janel. In her spare time Carnelia would watch cooking shows, enjoy crafting, crocheting, shopping and picnicking with family. She was always so proud of her crocheted hats and also collected antiques.

Carnelia was proceded in death by her father, Cecil L. Richardson; brother, Michael J. Richardson; and sister, Diane R. Richardson.

Carnelias legacy continues through her mother, Rev. Gloria Mae Richardson; brother, Cecil Richardson; sister, Kay Francis Richardson; daughter, Janel Larae Richardson; son, Reed Ngoc Iam and Ashton Huo Lam, along with a host of extended family and friends. Funeral Service
