Carla Kay Triplett

Carla K. Triplett, 59, passed away September 7, 2019 at Methodist Hospital.

Funeral services were held at 11 am Friday,September 20, 2019 at Mt. Hebron Baptist Church. She was carried to her final resting place at Glendale Cemetery, by a horse drawn hearse.

Carla was born August 28, 1960 in Des Moines, Iowa to Edmon Peter Triplett and Mary Louise (Hicks) Triplett. She attended and graduated from Roosevelt High School and went on to obtain a cosmetology degree from the Iowa School of Beauty.

Carla loved the Lord and gave her life to him as a young woman. She was a longtime member of Mt. Hebron Baptist Church where she served as an usher and sang in the JMH choir.

Carla loved life and lived it to the fullest, yet she was a humble person, appreciative of anything you did for her. She went out of her way for anyone she felt needed help. She spent a lot of time "ripping and running" all over the place without any breaks, trying to help others. Her biggest joy was spending time with her grandchildren. She poured into them so they could be their best. She was a math and science major and loved helping with homework. She loved family gatherings where she could fix her famous dressing and home made ice cream. You could catch her in the kitchen or around the grill humming a little old school blues or gospel while she cooked. Carla was a "fashionista"! She loved shopping and was always stylish. She liked watching football and rooting for her Kansas City Chiefs; or she watched Looking for Gold, Property Brothers or Bigfoot (Yes, she believed).

A true soldier, Carla went home to rest on September 7, 2019. She joined her parents, Mary and Edmon Triplett; sister, Dyan Lynette Triplett and aunts Delores Crawford and Carla "Homegirl" Davis.

Left to mourn her passing are her children, Jennetta Triplett-Rankins (Montez), Jonathan Triplett and Justin Triplett; 8 grandchildren, sisters, Mary Ann Thomas, Sherretta Triplett, Garnetta Triplett; a brother, Edmon Triplett, Jr; her god brothers and sisters, adopted sisters, Zola Mae Garrett, Nashonda Smith and Marsha Spears and a host of extended family and many friends.
