Bulah Marshall

Bulah Cain Marshall was born November 5,1929 in Weston, Mississippi to Eddie "Jack" and Ethel (Hedges) Cain. It was a hard life. Bulahs first jobs were working in the fields. She barely had time to go to school. But there was always church on Sunday. Bulah attended New Zion Grove Baptist Church in Chicago, IL

Bulah was married in June 1954 to Evans Marshall. They relocated to Des Moines in 1999 after brief stops in Chicago and Wisconsin. Sadly, Evans passed away shortly thereafter.

Bulah joined Morning Star Baptist Church under the leadership of Rev. Alex J. Crawford Jr. and served as a usher until her health began to fail. She always enjoyed going to church.

Bulah was a quiet but friendly person. She loved going to Bingo and spent time entertaining family and friends. She would sometimes put in a little garden where she could harvest some greens to cook with her familys favorite macaroni and cheese. Bulah could sing a little too. She was a quiet person, but she didnt stand for any foolishness from her children or the grandchildren. She loved them all the same.

On July 31, 2017, Bulah heard the Master call her name and went to her eternal rest. She was 87 years old. She was welcomed to the other side by her husband, Evans; her daughter, Lois; her parents, Jack and Ethel Cain; sisters, Alice Copeland, Minniebelle Pittman Brown and brothers, L.S. Warren and Pick Cain and her grandson Travis.

Bulah is survived by her children, Paul (Diane) Marshall, Donnell (Joan) Marshall, Annette (Homer) Cuttler, and Glenn (Gwen) Marshall; her grandchildren, Maurice, Terrell, Lakisha, LaShaun, Leketta, Aquarian "Shenice", Cornelius, Nate, Lemar, Paul, Lil Glenn and Jasmine; 16 great grandchildren; her sister, Evanell Cain Gordon and a host of nieces, nephews other relatives and friends.Visitation
