Bridget Butts

Bridget (Stovall) Butts was born December 7, 1962 to Leonard and Marcelline (Doyle) Stovall, in Des Moines, IA. She was educated in the Des Moines School District and graduated from North High School in 1981. She continued her education at Des Moines Area Community College where she earned her certificate in the Administrative Assistant Program. Later in life she would also graduate from the Iowa School for the Blind.

Bridget professed Jesus Christ as her personal savior at a young age and was a member of Bethel AME Church. Bridget was a dedicated servant who was always praying and caring for others. She loved to see believers grow into "Soldiers for the Lord". Bridget was also a diligent employee in her professional life, as well. She worked many jobs throughout her life but most recently worked at the Law Office of Hopkins & Huebner.

Bridget loved and cherished her family. She was blessed with one son, Doyle, whom she loved dearly. Bridget took pride in caring for her family through their time of distress and illness. She took extra special care with her beloved Doyle through his kidney related issues until the Lord saw fit to call him to rest. Bridget was gifted with certain qualities that helped her comfort those in need. She was a great listener who was non-judgmental so you could talk to her about anything. Her tender heart had the ability to comfort the most tormented spirit, and she was able to be the light in some of the darkest moments. She was also able to lighten the room with one of her jokes. Occasionally Bridget would tell a story or two but it definitely wasnt her strong suit. Despite her own personal battle with her own illness, she would never utter a mumbling word of complaint.

On March 20th, 2019 Bridgets work on earth was complete. She was re-

united on the other side with her son, Doyle and her parents Leonard and Marcelline Stovall.

Left to cherish Bridgets memory is her husband, Demery; siblings, David (Diane) Stovall, Monica Stovall and Tracey Stovall; nephew, Daren Richardson; great-nephews, Solace, Canaan and Irie; grandchildren, Chloe and Makala; stepchildren, Denaya Clayborn, Chasity Butts, Patricia Butts and Dustin Gabyen; and a host of other relatives and friends.
