Booker T Phillips

Booker T. Phillips passed away on July 15, 2018. Memorial services will be held on Saturday, July 21, 2018, at 12:00 p.m. at Henderson's Highland Park Funeral Home.

Booker T. Phillips Jr. was born to Booker T. Phillips Sr. and Rosalie Eubanks on December 29, 1927. Together, the family would make their home in Chicago, where Booker would be raised and educated. Sadly, Booker would loose both his parents at an early age, and was raised by his grandmother; Laura Ott. He would later go on to graduate from Carter High School. Later in life, Booker would marry Hazel Henderson.

For most of his career Booker was a self-made man. With his entrepreneurial spirit and amazing smile, he found ways to help those who needed a hand up and make a living to take care of his family.

Booker was a hard worker who was devoted to his family. He loved jazz and because of his generous spirit, loved to see people have a good time. He was the kind of man that would welcome you into his home, offer you a drink and ask about your life. He loved to tell good stories and playing pool as well asgoing fishing.

He is preceded in death by his parents; Booker T. Sr. and Rosalie Phillips as well as his wife; Hazel Henderson and great-grandmother; Laura Ott.

Left to cherish his memory are his children; Anthony (Jerrie) Phillips, Marionanita (William) Scott, grandchildren; Tawana, Anthony, Jeremy, Lukus, Markus, Sharveonce, Tyree (Maysy) Lawrence, great-grandchildren; Dhavala, Antonio, Ariyah, Nizayha, King Anthony Egypt, Marionna, Aliyha, Mayree, Maylynn, Tyliah, Titus and Luanna.
