Bonnie Thomas

Bonnie passed away on January 15, 2023.

Services are planned for Saturday, January 28, 2023 at New Beginnings Discipleship Ministries starting at 1pm.

Bonnie Jean Thomas “Bon-Bon” was born in Winterset, Iowa on April 23, 1955, to Gloria Jean Clopton and Robert Earl Clopton. Bonnie married Michael David Thomas on August 27, 1976. They were parents to three children, Christopher, Elissa and Carrie. Bonnie worked at Thorpe Credit in Winterset, Iowa after graduating high school. She then began her career at Iowa Lutheran Hospital as a Unit Clerk. She worked at Lutheran for 41 years. 

She enjoyed spending her time gardening. She loved to bake. Bonnie also loved to attend her grandchildren’s athletic events. She spent many weekends attending baseball, football, soccer, and basketball games supporting her grandkids.

 Bonnie Jean Thomas “Bon-Bon” departed her loving family on January 15, 2023. Bonnie was preceded in death by her father Robert Earl Clopton and her brother Curtis Earl Clopton. Bonnie is survived by her husband, Michael David Thomas, her children Christopher Michael Thomas and his wife Courtney, Elissa Ann Turner and her husband Michael, Carrie Michelle Thomas-Reed and her husband Jimmy, her grandchildren Dylan Michael McCormick, Jaylen Romeo Ziegler, Michael Christopher Thomas, Mason Ray Thomas, Desmond Michael Thomas, London Grace Turner, Emmett Joaquin Reed, and Elijah Henry Reed. She is also survived by her mother Gloria Jean Clopton, her siblings Patricia Ann Williams and Craig Russell Clopton.
