Benjamin Dant, Jr. was born on August 2, 1927 in Ottumwa, IA to Benjamin and Mabel Dant.
Benjamin was educated in the Des Moines Public School district and graduated from North High, Class of 1945. He was later drafted in to the Army and served his country as an Mechanic. Benjamin served in World War II, the Korean Conflict. After his honorable discharge from the military Benjamin worked for the United States Post Office as a maintenance worker until his retirement.
On June 23, 2015 Benjamin stepped from time into eternity. Waiting to welcome him home was his wife, Sandra Duncan-Dant; his parents, Benjamin and Mabel Dant; his sisters, Marcella Dant, Joan Loggins and Virginia McCurrin; his brother, Tilton Dant Sr., and his nephew, L.W. (Tony) Loggins.
Benjamin is survived by his children, Aaronda Dant, Filice and Reggie Williams; his granddaughters, Catuleya Sysenglath and Aaleriee Jenkins; his nephews, Jerry Dant, Jerel Waldron and Tilton Dant Jr.; his nieces, Alva Waldron and Carolyn Collins; his great nieces, D'Andra Waldron and Javal Dant; his cousins, Joe and Melvin Dant; along with a host of other relatives and friends.
