Arbella Deloris Jeter

Arbella Deloris Jeter was born in Laclede, Missouri on November 6, 1932 to Carl and Francis (James) Jeter. She graduated from Centerville High School and continued her education at Drake University earning a B.A.in education. She worked as an elementary school teacher in both Omaha and Des Moines.

Arbella had very eclectic tatses in art, music and life in gerneral. She loved the colors green,red and gold. Arbella was able to tap dance and belly dance. She loved yoga and listening to jazz and the blues. Arbella was a member of the Delta Sigma Theta sorority. She believed strongly in education and stressed that to her daughter and grandchildren. She could have been an actress with her flair for the dramtic, or a drill sergeant because of her need for order. Either way you would have known exactly where you stood with Arbella. She didn't mince words. She loved to eat and cook her specialties of fried chicken and greens. She also had a fondness for homemade rolls. Arbella was a member of Corinthan Baptist Church where she sang in the choir before her health declined.

On January 21, 2013 Arbella answered the Master's call to rest. Waiting for her on the other side were her parents, Carl and Francis Jeter; siblings, Marcia Byron, Connie Barnes, Teresa Douglas, Carl Jeter, Jr. and George Grant Jeter; her granddaughter, Brittany Hall and her beloved companion, Teddy the dog.

Left to cherish Arbella's memory is her daughter, Allison (Stephen) Stewart; brother, Vernon Jeter; sisters, Marilyn (Carl) Taylor and Sharon (Elmer) Carter; granddaughter, Bethany Hall, Timothy (Emily) Edwards, as well as a host of extended family and friends.
