Anna Louise Stanley

Anna Louise (Reed) Stanley was born June 27, 1932 in Missouri to Mary M. (Vivian) and Monroe Edmund Reed. She received her primary education in Booneville, Missouri where she graduated from Sumner High School, in 1951.

Right after graduation, Anna married her high school sweetheart, Ira Stanley. The family later re-located to Des Moines and she found employment with the Iowa Jewish Home.

Anna was a homebody that enjoyed the simple pleasures in life. She loved a good book, and was an avid reader. Anna loved attending church and hearing good gospel singing. She enjoyed sitting on her porch, chatting with neighbors passing by and watching the kids play. She loved shopping for bargains and had a weakness for watches. She was a good cook and everyone loved her turkey and dressing. But most of all, Anna loved spoiling her kids and grandbabies.

Anna passed away on March 21, 2021 at the age of 88. Preceding her in death is her husband, Ira Stanley, Sr.; her parents, Monroe and Mary Reed; her sons, Danny and Ira Stanley, Jr.; her brother, Joe Reed; and her sister, Thelma Jackson.

Anna leaves fond memories with her children, Leda Baskin and Sandra Stanley; her sister, Shirley Reed; her brother, James Reed; beloved grandchildren, Raymond MacGruder, Renita Baskin, Stephanie Baskin, and Darrell Stanley. She also leaves behind her great-grandchildren, Jermon Baskin, Chrissy Lewis, Caleb Lewis, Rachael Roberts, and Hannah Roberts along with a host of nieces, nephews, and other relatives and friends.
