Anita Buchanan went home to be with the lord, on August 13, 2023. 

Anita Buchanan was born on December 8, 1958 to Mary Lee Hill and Charles Harold Smith in Des Moines, Iowa. She was educated in the Des Moines Public School System. Anita graduated from Des Moines Technical High School in 1976. After graduating she continued her education and received her Associated Degree from DMACC

Anita married Ronald Buchanan on May 31st, 2003 along with this marriage two families were blended.

Anita’s was adventurous and loved to draw. She was very creative and appreciated art. She enjoyed decorating her home inside and out. She had the nicest house on the block. Anita loved shopping at Walmart, she would spend hours just walking around. It got so, that when family or friends knew she was headed to Walmart they would find reasons not to go because they knew she would be there all day. Anita was a member of Corinthian Baptist Church. She was compassionate and had a love for everyone, she was always taking care of people.

Anita Buchanan passed away on August 12, 2023. Preceding her in death were her husband, Ronald Buchanan; father, Charles H. Smith; grandson, Ronald Andrew “Buck” Buchanan II; and a brother, David Overstreet.
