Angelina Zelaya, de 77 años, de Des Moines, Iowa, falleció el miércoles 18 de septiembre de 2024 en su casa rodeada de su amada familia. Se llevará a cabo un velorio en Hendersons Funeral & Cremation Care el domingo 22 de septiembre de 2024, de 3:00 a 6:00 p.m. Su funeral será en Capital Hill Church el lunes 23 de septiembre de 2024 a las 10:00 a. m. Seguirá el entierro en Highland Memorial Gardens en Des Moines. 

Angelina Zelaya nació en El Salvador el 1 de marzo de 1947. Era hija de Santiago Jacobo Zelaya y Lucila Amparo Zelaya Amaya. Angelina era una mujer de fe. Le apasionada ir a la iglesia. Invitaba a todos que conocía a su iglesia. Tenía un corazón muy grande. Era generosa. Le gustaba ayudar a la gente. Valoraba mucho a su familia. Tenía orgullo de tener el apellido Zelaya. Era muy unida con sus hermanos y hermanas. Era una madre protectora y amorosa. Era una abuela y tía presente y cariñosa. Era una esposa dedicada. Era graciosa. Hacia sonreír y reír a la gente. Era una mujer elegante. Le gustaba pintarse. Le gustaba tener el pelo colocho. Usaba aretes, anillos y cadenas porque se miraba hermosa en oro. En su pasa tiempo le gustaba cocinar. Le gustaba hacer tamales y pavo. Le gustaba ir a El Salvador a visitar a sus hijos. También le gustaba escuchar música cristiana. Angelina falleció el 18 de septiembre de 2024, en la comodidad de su hogar, rodeada de su familia. Tal y como ella deseaba. Angelina era una persona buena, fuerte, y única. Ahora le decimos a Angelina que descanse en paz, te queremos mucho, y los veremos pronto. Precedieron en la muerte a su hija, Maira Estela Zelaya; sus padres; Santiago y Lucila; y hermanos; Pedro Zelaya y Marina Zelaya. 

Los que quedan para apreciar y honrar su memoria son sus hijos Saul Guadamus, Elmer Samel Zelaya y Ramon Alexander Zelaya. Esposo Jose Torres. Nueras Norma Cabezas, Carolina Zelaya, Dolores Del Carmen Zelaya. Nietos Lucila Cabezas, Ingri Cabezas, Estela Cabezas, Estefani Guadamus, Christopher Zelaya, Maira Estela Zelaya, Nelvis Zelaya, Tatiana Zelaya, Clarisa Zelaya, Minerva Zelaya y Karla Zelaya. Sobrinos Ismael Zelaya, Marvin Zelaya, Vilma Zelaya, Wilber Zelaya, Tany Rigoberto Zelaya, Pedro Zelaya, Krista Zelaya, Abigail Zelaya, Yanira Zelaya, Norma Zelaya, Luis Alberto Zelaya, Gerardo Zelaya, Margarita Zelaya, Marilu Zelaya, Jean Carlos Zelaya, Karina Zelaya, Milagro Zelaya, Zuleyma Zelaya, Manuel Bolaines. Hermanos Corina Zelaya, Amparo Zelaya, Jacobo Zelaya, Ismael Zelaya, Fermin Zelaya, Rigoberto Zelaya y Carlos Arturo Zelaya.


Angelina Zelaya, 77, of Des Moines, Iowa, passed away on Wednesday, September 18, 2024, at her home surrounded by her loving family. A visitation will be held at Hendersons Funeral & Cremation Care on Sunday, September 22, 2024, from 3:00 - 6:00 p.m. Her funeral service will be at Capital Hill Church on Monday, September 23, 2024, at 10:00 a.m. Burial will follow at Highland Memorial Gardens in Des Moines. 

Angelica Zelaya was born in El Salvador on March 1, 1947. She was the daughter of Santiago Jacobo Zelaya and Lucila Amparo Zelaya. Angelica was a woman of faith. She had a passion for attending church. She invited everyone she knew to her church. She had a big heart. She was generous. She liked to help people. She valued her family. She was proud to have the last name Zelaya. She was very united with her brothers and sisters. She was a loving and protective mother. She was a present and caring grandma and aunt. She was a dedicated wife. She was funny. She made people laugh and smile. She was an elegant woman. She liked doing her make-up. She liked to wear her hair curly. She wore earrings, necklaces and rings because she looked beautiful in gold. Her hobbies were to cook. She liked to make tamales and turkey. She liked traveling to El Salvador to visit her children. She also liked to listen to Christian music. Angelica passed away September 18, 2024, in the comfort of her own home, surrounded by family. Just as she desired. Angelica was a good person, strong, and unique. Today we say to Angelica rest in peace, we love you, and we will see each other soon. She preceded in death by her daughter, Maira Zelaya; parents, Santiago and Lucila; and siblings, Pedro Zelaya and Marina Zelaya.

Those left to cherish and honor her memory are her children Saul Guadamus, Elmer Samel Zelaya and Ramon Alexander Zelaya. Husband Jose Torres. Daughters-in-laws Norma Cabezas, Carolina Zelaya, and Dolores Del Carmen Zelaya. Grandchildren Lucila Cabezas, Ingri Cabezas, Estela Cabezas, Estefani Guadamus, Christopher Zelaya, Maira Estela Zelaya, Nelvis Zelaya, Tatiana Zelaya, Clarisa Zelaya, Minerva Zelaya and Karla Zelaya. Nieces and Nephews Ismael Zelaya, Marvin Zelaya, Vilma Zelaya, Wilber Zelaya, Tany Rigoberto Zelaya, Pedro Zelaya, Krista Zelaya, Abigail Zelaya, Yanira Zelaya, Norma Zelaya, Luis Alberto Zelaya, Gerardo Zelaya, Amparo Zelaya, Margarita Zelaya, Marilu Zelaya, Jean Carlos Zelaya, Karina Zelaya, Milagro Zelaya, Zuliema Zelaya, Manuel Bolaines. Siblings Corina Zelaya, Amparo Zelaya, Jacobo Zelaya, Ismael Zelaya, Fermin Zelaya, Rigoberto Zelaya and Carlos Arturo Zelaya.
