Agnes Louise Williams was born July 4th, 1931 to Richard Williams and Pearl McClain Dudley. Agnes was raised by her mother and step- father, Sexton Dudley, in Des Moines, Iowa where she graduated from Tech High School. She furthered her education by attending DMACC.
Agnes was employed by MIDAC. She was a drug and alcohol counselor and was also a first responder for sexual assault cases.
While Agnes was helping others straighten out their lives she managed to have a family of her own. She had three children whom she spoiled: James, Jacinta and Brett. Once grown, they managed to spoil her back. Agnes loved to travel; she had visited Denver, Los Angeles, England, Texas, and New Jersey. Agnes loved to read her bible. She was a long time member of Corinthian Baptist Church. She also loved dining out. When she did cook, she could put her foot in a good pot of spaghetti! She was also great at cooking catfish and shrimp creole. And even if you weren't a fan, she made the best liver and onions! She loved family gatherings, as long as they weren't outside (NO BUGS!) and it was there she freely dispensed her words of wisdom; whether you wanted them or not. And most of the time she was right.
June 1, 2015, Agnes made her transition to glory. She was welcomed on the other side by her parents, Pearl and Sexton Dudley and Richard Williams and her brother, Richard "Cowboy" Williams and sister, Josephine Williams.
Left to cherish Agnes' memory are her children, James E Smith, Jr, Jacinta L. Williams and Brett (Kris) L. Jones; her daughter in law, Terry E. Jewett; her sister, Virginia Taylor; her grandchildren, Jamie (Charles) Sinnah-Yovonie, Jodi Thompson, Ashley Jewett, William E. Jewett, Chelsea (Junior) Alexis, and Lacretia Bruce; great grandchildren, Brittnay Jewett, Mark Carter, Daziona Jewett, Kennesha Jewett, Jaimelle Slaughter, Chloe Alexis, Ivy Alexis, Taylor Davis and Brian Berry and great -great grandchild, Taevion Browne, along with a host of extended family and her best friend from the age of 13, Mary Clark Calhoun.
