Larry LaVon Bailey was born to Burton Crockett Bailey Sr. and Rowena Mae (Fields) Bailey on August 21 1961, in Des Moines, Iowa. Larry was obviously spoiled from birth.
He was raised and educated in the area, graduating from East high school. After his graduation, Larry would eventually work in the transportation field as a car porter; giving Stivers Lincoln Mercury fifteen years of faithful service.
He enjoyed cooking, his omelets were his specialty as well as his brisket. And all the while, from prep to the family table; Larry would be humming his favorite tunes. He was also a sports fan, and loved the Dallas Cowboys. Larry was also a politically conscious man, and at times, could be known to vent his frustrations with the current administration on Facebook. He also liked to fish, play board games and dance to old-school 90s music.
Larry was a happy person who loved life and people; but maybe his dogs just a little bit more. At the end of his day (like any good pet-parent) his priority was taking Chloe and Bandit for a walk.
Larry L. Bailey passed away on November 6, 2017. He was preceded in death by his parents, Rowena (Fields) and Burton Bailey Sr.; grandparents, Willis and Marguerita Butts; and brothers, Micheal Sr. and Burton II.
He is survived by his partner in life, Patty Power; sisters, Theresa (Reggie) Richardson, Linda (Paul) Jackson, Meta Bailey, Melody Clarke, Michelle Bailey; brother: Marcus Bailey Sr.; sister: Merita Bailey; step-daughters: Meloney B., Kim Zacharias, Heidi Zacharias and a host of nieces, nephews, great nieces and nephews, ten step-grandchildren and twelve step-great grandchildren.
