Jackie Lee Porter

Jackie Lee Porter was born to Carroll B. Dixson and Ione Lucinda Hall-McDade on June 16, 1948, in Des Moines, Iowa. She was raised and educated in the Des Moines public school system, where she attended East High school.

Eventually, Jackie and Michael Porter Sr. would meet, and together they would build their life. Jackie and Michael were blessed with three children; Michael David Porter Jr, Dana Lee Porter and Shawn "Marco" Porter. In 1989, Michael Porter Sr. stepped into eternity.

For most of her working years, Jackie was a claims examiner for Blue Cross/Blue Shield in the Des Moines area. She loved to watch movies; especially scary ones and comedies were her favorite kind! She also loved to collect stuffed animals and blankets of sports teams; Jackie loved the Green Bay Packers. Jackie was also a very meticulous person; everything always had a place. But most of all, she was proud to be a strong and independent woman wasnt afraid to speak her mind.

Jackie is preceded in death by her husband, Michael Porter, Sr; and father Carroll B. Dixson. She is survived by her children, Michael David Porter Jr., Dana Lee Porter and Shawn "Marco" Porter; mother, Ione Hall; siblings, Carolyn Coleman, Paul L. Dixson, Yvonne James, Tiamo Dixon, Edward Eugene Jones, Cortez Nichols, Valerie Nichols; grandchildren, LaToya Porter, Jaala Johnson, Michael Porter III, Dominique Jones, Dajore White, Aaron Porter, Portia Porter, Jazmin Porter, Imani Porter; great-grandchildren, Ari Dixon Kyrie Shannon, Amari Johnson, Mason Hughes, Nashiya Chiri, Malik Matison-Hughes, Hailey Ingram, Skyler Ingram, Antonio Bell, Ace Porter, Zane Jones, Azariah White and Dajore White Jr.
